It’s getting close. The editor has done the work of cleaning up the manuscript. We have been developing a marketing plan and telling anyone we meet that we have a book coming out in late July. There are a lot of balls in the air and we are trying to manage it all.
One of the publisher’s marketing tactics is a cover poll. At the beginning of the process, Mike and I completed paperwork indicating what we envisioned for our masterpiece. It was a difficult task for me because I had not thought about the cover. We were instructed to look at other books and decide what aspects we liked. Once that was done we explained how we envisioned our cover. Mike already had a few ideas so he was ahead of the curve as usual.
Yesterday, we received two cover options. It now feels real. Seeing the picture of possible covers with our book title and names was a bit surreal. I thought, “WOW, this is really going to happen!” Surprisingly, Mike and I voted for different ones. I would have thought we would agree but on this, we don’t. In all fairness, I am fine with either one. We shared the poll on our Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter accounts. If you have not seen it or do not follow those please take a minute and vote at this site.
