“Mike, this is Kristin. Kelly and the girls were in a car accident,” the recording from my answering machine says in the stillness of my home. I hold my breath and wait for the next line, telling me, “but everyone is all right.” It never comes...

After many years and several trials and tribulations, we put our thoughts and feelings to paper and wrote a memoir. The story tentatively titled, The Miracle Child: Traumatic Brain Injury and Me, tells the story of a horrific car accident and the resulting trauma.

Even though only two family members were injured, the entire family was affected.  Michael and Kelly share their intimate feelings during this time describing all their inner thoughts and pain.  During their struggles, they illustrate how their marriage became stronger even when setbacks brought new challenges.

Beta readers describe The Miracle Child: Traumatic Brain Injury and Me as “a heartwarming account of a traumatic accident and a family’s healing process”; “found it utterly compelling and inspirational"; and the “story is told with great humanity and compassion, and with honesty about how you felt and what devastation the accident caused to your family".

Kelly and Michael have completed the memoir manuscript and are in the process of finding a literary agent or publisher through an indie or hybrid publishing company. If anyone has a contact or lead, we would be interested in discussing our book further. Contact us at themiraclechild2001@gmailcom.
